Drupal for complex content and teams

Drupal Website Development: drupal is useful when content has many types, roles, workflows or publishing rules. We design the information model and editorial ownership before building templates.

Who may edit, approve and publish each kind of information?

FOR THE CUSTOMER

Consistent pages and language versions that answer the right question.

FOR THE BUSINESS

A defined route from draft to approval and a record of responsibility.

WHAT WE DESIGN

Model the content before the templates

Editors need fields and permissions that reflect their work, not one unrestricted page editor.

Content model

Separate services, publications and resources into reusable fields only where the work calls for them.

Editorial roles

Define who drafts, reviews, translates and publishes each type of page.

Connections

Specify APIs and source systems before displaying information maintained elsewhere.

IN OPERATION

Make publishing testable

Review a real content change in each language and role before handing over the site.

KEY DECISION

Check server fit early

Drupal release requirements include PHP, database and web-server configuration. Confirm the chosen environment and expected load for this project.
Industries

When content models get complicated

A publisher, clinic and manufacturer may all need Drupal for different reasons. We adapt content types, editorial roles, permissions and navigation to the sector without fragmenting the design system.

BEFORE WE START

Editorial decisions that make Drupal manageable

When is Drupal worth the extra setup?

It is worth evaluating when content types, permissions or approval stages are too complex for a simpler editorial site. Start with a sample content model rather than picking a CMS from a feature checklist.

What should a content editor be allowed to change?

Separate the permissions to draft, review, publish and change the site structure. Test the roles with real examples: a translated news item, an updated service, and an unpublished page.

What happens to content when the site is rebuilt?

Plan content migration early: map old fields to new ones, retain stable URLs where appropriate, preserve redirects and sample-check multilingual records before public release.

CONTENT MIGRATION IS A PROJECT OF ITS OWN

Plan the migration and publishing permissions

Before development, audit what must move: content types, file references, URLs, translations, authors and permissions. Old redirects and editorial approval rules should be agreed together, not discovered during launch week. The handover should demonstrate how an editor drafts, reviews, publishes and rolls back a page. A Drupal platform is only maintainable when that workflow is documented.

CONTENT AND ROLES

Do your editors need a clearer publishing system?

Tell us what content you manage, who edits or approves it, which languages are involved and what systems Drupal must connect to. A finished specification can follow.
